What should have been a perfect Sunday at Alte Försterei

It was a Sunday in May and matchday in Köpenick. Union was set to host VfL Bochum, a team we have a good grip on when playing at Alte Försterei. With a victory in this match, we would take a big step towards securing the spot in the Bundesliga for another season. It was an excited group that met for a Döner breakfast in front of Rathaus Köpenick, and everything was in place for the perfect day. As usual, we moved on to Tusche Kick & Rush and then to Hauptmann, with the group growing as new 'Bamser' appeared. We were a large 'Bamsegjeng' this Sunday. An early march to the stadium to welcome the team bus in the parking lot outside the stadium. Inside the stadium, the stands were dressed in red, white, and yellow flags, everything was set for the team to be cheered to victory. But, as we were often used to in the “old days”, it did not turn out that way. The first half was some of the worst Union has delivered at Alte Försterei in years, and we were down 0-3 at half-time. During the break, Aaronsen, Vertessen, and Bedia were brought in. This caused us to gain the upper hand in the match, but too late, a 3-4 loss and we were increasingly close to the relegation zone. Now, it’s crucial to deliver in Cologne next weekend and against Freiburg for the last home match. Kämpfen og Siegen! EISERN!
