Bamsegjengen in the Union-Drachenbootcup for the third time

The annual Union-Drachenbootcup, this year being the 22nd edition. We (Bamsegjengen) had our own boat for the third year in a row. This year helped a bit by the Union International Fanclub. As always, the race took place at Regatta-Stadion Grünau in the Treptow-Köpenick district, on the course used for the 1936 Olypics.

Hannes and Jürgen had again made the perfect preparation, and we had once again secured a great spot for the Bamsegjengen tent. This year we also had a Norwegian flag marking our territory. Thank you, Jürgen and Hannes!

Again, we were very lucky with the weather and the day was great. As always, we had three chances at the course. We did well all three times, and the times were 1.11.28, 1.10.48 and 1.11.12. Very consistent. The times were not comparable to last year, as the start was a bit different this year, everyone used more time. Last year we ended as 37 out of 50 boats, this year we became number 40 out of 54 boats. A great result, again.

However, our race results were not the most important thing. What mattered most was meeting other UNION'ers and other UNION fan clubs, drinking beer, eating pork chops in bread, and feeling the atmosphere of this great UNION family. See you next year!
