DFB Pokal, Union Ultras concert and cheap beer in Greifswald

Finally, it was time for the most important away trip of the year for us! Did you know that there are 2 different Lindenstraße 18-19 in Berlin? It took us a while to catch that……

We took a taxi to the first location that came up on Google Maps. We bought ourselves breakfast and were well prepared to travel with the Eisern Virus to Greifswald. As soon as we got out of the taxi, Hilde had a feeling that we were at the wrong address. After a quick coffee and 2 bites of a sandwich, I agreed to check one more time. It turned out we were supposed to be at the other Lindenstraße 18-19 and it was already past 10. We managed to jump into a taxi and cross the city. We arrived at 10:35 and thought we were too late for the bus. However, some nice Eisern V.I.R.U.S. fans had spotted two lost Union fans across the street. We made it over and caught the bus just in time, but with some good-natured remarks that we needed to learn the clock.

Off we went to the stadium with cold beer and friendly people.

On the way up, we could clearly see that we were heading to Hansa country. There was graffiti upon graffiti with Hansa-zone and many others of the same kind. We noticed it especially when the police stood by the highway to keep an overview. They said something on the police radio and voila, we had a police escort the rest of the way.

Upon arriving at the stadium, we were clearly told. Aufkleber, nicht! (Stickers, not allowed). We chose to obey the order to get admission. Inside the stadium, it was as expected. No visibility, due to no height difference between the stand and the pitch. So, we went back to the beer stand to buy more pilsner. Not every day you get a ultras concert from Union and good cheap pilsner.

After the match, we went home. We made a couple of new Union-friends and took a tour of Köpenick to end the evening.

All in all, a good day with what we choose to call a good dose of luck.
