Sunday September 1st – Drachenbootrennen
Dragon Boat Day!
A beautiful tradition among the fan clubs of Union. Over 60 fan clubs fight against each other, some in the professional class, most in the “fun to be amateur class”. And fun it was! We landed in 37th place among 50, and it’s only our second year! I feel something in the air…
I’ll let the photos (mostly) speak for themselves.
Peter had the luck to meet our one and only Susi!!! It’s a real shame I couldn’t be there, because I would have loved to meet her. I would have told her that she doesn’t have to think of Bamsegjengen, I take care of them. She must just focus on her “kids”.
I met Grote and Eta who saved our ass when we struggled last season. Was I starstruck or what? I found it very interesting talking tactics with people with so much knowledge. I learned a lot, and I hope they did as well (I told them about how it is being a Bear and a mascot).
And, my Bloody Mary, did I meet some guys with a lot of knowledge not only about football, but also about drinking. By drinking I mean like drinks, with alcohol. I have a deep, deep in the glass respect for the hard work they do. They are running the podcast “Taktik & Suff“ (sort of “Tactics & Drinking”), educating people all around the world. Cheers to you guys!
In the evening we went to a secret place by the sea, I mean Dahme. We were invited by some really nice Unioner who could see that we needed exactly that on a warm summer night. Thank you for a lovely evening!
